Tom has returned from Panama after distributing all the medical items shipped in container #16 last October.  Eyeglasses have been distributed throughout western Panama with the help of the Ladies Lions, Eagles of Iron motorcycle club, and Floating Doctors of Bocas del Toro.  In the prosthetics shop, Tom has fit to date 371 prosthetic legs, 48 hands, and 7 complete arms.  Our external breast prosthesis program is ongoing, having delivered hundreds of prostheses, cancer caps, and wigs.  We have approximately 80 home orthopedic beds out on loan, which we recover when they are no longer needed.  With the last 16 containers we have delivered approximately 3000 wheelchairs, 3000 walkers, and 4000 crutches.

Container #17 will be loaded approximately June 10.  Date will be announced when we get the sailing date.

We would like to thank all our volunteers who help with collecting, transporting, and loading the needed medical supplies.  Please continue looking for the items that we collect (see the needed items listed under “How You Can Help”.)  We are now on Facebook.
